The first Mansfield Farmers’ Market was held in September 2009 on a very cold and wet day at the Mansfield Primary School. Fortunately it was up on the basketball court with an enormous roof over our head – how lucky were we?!? Since then the market has established a reputation as an authentic and respected farmers market. In December 2013 the market moved location to its current home – in the median strip between the Post Office and the Delatite Hotel.
When you buy something at the Mansfield Farmers’ Market, you can be confident that the person you’re buying it from either grew it, harvested it or made it. That’s what makes a farmers market different. There are no middle-men, no wholesalers and everything was grown and made within our local region.
In November 2013, Alli Walker of Walker Events (the owner / operator of the market) was awarded the inaugural Excellence in Food Tourism Award at the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards. The Mansfield Farmers’ Market has become a “must do” on the list of attractions in the local area.
