October in Mansfield means many things – festivals! The kick off of the Spring Arts festival is Friday this week (23rd) with the launch of the Postcards exhibition at the Delatite Hotel and then the Spring Arts Walk through town. Cafes and restaurants alike are hosting individual art exhibitions – all open to the public.
We are very excited to have our market as part of the Spring Arts festival – with a number of local artists and crafts people setting up stalls amongst us. We also welcome some of the music students from Geelong Grammar’s Timbertop campus who will be performing throughout the morning. Definitely not a market to be missed!
Our very own Gorgeous Gumboots exhibition is making an appearance again this year. Put your crafty hat on, find an old shoe, boot or thong and decorate it to fit into our theme of FOOD. No entry fees or forms – just bring your creation along on Saturday morning for display.
New stallholders are always something to look forward to and we have a few of them on hand for our October market. Mansfield Icecream are setting up for their very first outing and we can’t wait to taste some of their home made icecream. We also welcome Australian Trout Exports from Murrundindi – with a fridge full of fresh trout and smoked trout and eels. Pete is back from his winter up at Buller with the Kransky Kart back in operation with a delicious brunch or lunch option.
Several of our stallholders have been very clever with their organisation and have some hampers on offer – both for Christmas presents but also available at other times of the year (with a little notice). If you jump over to the Hampers tab on our webpage you can read about the different options available. Howes Creek Farm are also putting together a Christmas Hamper option which will be available for preorders – stop and have a chat to Jackie about what she has on offer.
After this Saturday’s market we only have two more for the year. November is on our regular 4th Saturday date (28th) but our December Christmas market has come one week forward to the THIRD Saturday (19th) so that we can squeeze one in before the big day. NOW is the time to start thinking about your Christmas shopping, especially for those wanting to order items such as meat. Pre orders are always welcomed by our stallholders so make the time to stop and chat this week.
