Yep.  It’s winter.  We had some ripper cold days last week with snow really low on the Merrijig and Glenroy hills (visible from town).  There was some sleety precipitation just at school drop off time on Wednesday that we labelled as “snow” – just because we really wanted to and our big mountains had quite a dump.  There were people everywhere in town heading up to make the most of it (me included) and it was definitely winter.

This week…. milder days (and nights).  A little bit of sunshine here and there and even a blue sky or two!  The weekend ahead (market day, of course) looks as though it could be a bit colder and possibly wet, but our market will be full steam ahead.  Ant from Elite Fireplaces will have the fire set up and I’ve heard a rumour that there might even be some cooking done on the top of it.  We’ve got a great lineup of stallholders once again – with a wide range of products to fill your pantry and your fridge.  Do you have a favourite item from the market?  We’d love to hear about it!  Send us an email, post on our Facebook page or put it up on Instagram with the #mansfieldfarmersmarket so that we can find it!

Our “Meet the Maker” and “Local is Lovely” blogs are slowly growing….. we are talking to each of our stallholders to find out a little more about each of them.  There are also some local personalities who we have had a chat to about what they love about the local area (and favourite foods).  Jump over to the webpage and have a look!

Sweet Tooth alert!  Martin and Rene from Chocolaterie RenMar are running some truffle making workshops on Sunday this week (day after the market).  If you are interested make sure that you book quickly as the numbers are limited.
