Brrrrrrrr!  To those of you who came along to our May market (especially the early risers) – thankyou!  I don’t think that the temperature gauge cracked the big zero until well after 9am.  It was cold.  It was frosty.  Fortunately the sky was clear which is always a great indicator that the day will (eventually) bring blue skies and sunshine.

We have much the same outlook for this weekend – our first market for winter.  So far the weather man is predicting a top temperature of 10 degrees – which means that it will be a wee bit lower early on in the day but will then turn into a typical Mansfield winter’s day with some sunshine.  Our stallholders will be ready and waiting for you with their tables full to the brim of vegetables, fruit, jams, relishes, bread, honey, nuts, wine, cider…. you get the picture.  If you need some recipe inspiration before you come along have a look at our Cauliflower recipe round up and add some to your list. The perfect winter warmers. So have your market basket ready with your scarf, gloves and hats and come along.

Our stallholder list is below – we are missing our Locheilan Cheese stall for June as Bruce and Sue are swanning around in Europe having a holiday (gasp!) but will return for July.  We welcome back Sandy from Hook and Spoon with some meals for the freezer and a few other goodies.  Tin Shed Cider and L’Amour de la Crepe are also back after having other commitments for the past few months.  If you are ever after something in particular during the month please ask and many of our stallholders have their products in local shops that we can direct you to.

A little teaser for something very special at our July 25th market – author Bianca Ross will be bringing her brand new children’s book (her second) featuring the gorgeous Herbert Peabody.  Make sure that you mark this date in your diary so that you don’t miss out! Edit – We have just heard that Herbie has some serious work happening in the vegie patch in July so will be joining us on 27th August instead.
